Perry Lake July 4th Fireworks Show Update:
As you make plans to celebrate at Perry Lake this Fourth of July, please be aware that the lake is currently above normal levels and the ground remains very soft due to recent wet conditions.
Because of these conditions, crews have been unable to mow all of the areas that are normally prepared for the holiday. There is also an increased risk of vehicles becoming stuck in soft ground.
Please use caution when traveling or parking, and whenever possible, stay on established roads and designated parking areas. Have a fun and safe Independence Day!

Power Outage Notice – Fairway Addition:
Residents in the Fairway Addition area can expect a power outage lasting approximately 30 minutes while crews complete necessary electrical work. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we perform this maintenance to the electric service.

Longtime supporter Tom Davis, who passed away in March 2026, was instrumental in supporting this event for many years. This year’s fireworks show is being dedicated to Tom in recognition of his continued support and commitment to helping make this community tradition possible.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy the show. Spectators are encouraged to gather in the designated common area located on the south side of the dam. Fireworks may only be launched from the spillway on the north side of the dam.
All attendees are asked to help keep Perry Lake clean by using the designated dumpsters provided. Please help preserve the lake’s natural habitat by ensuring no trash, debris, or firework remnants are left behind.
Gary and his crew will be stationed on the west side of the lake, providing what is sure to be another memorable Independence Day display.
The fireworks show will begin at dark, no earlier.

Power should once again be restored to all residents. If you are still without power, please contact the after hours emergency line at (580) 336-4100 and make a report. Thank you again for your patience, and thank you again to our crews for their dedicated work.

Our electric crews have been working throughout the night to restore power across the community. While service has been restored to many customers, a large portion of town including the Hillside and Coffey areas that lost power overnight is still without power. At this time, we do not have an estimated restoration time, as our crews are still working to locate the sources of the outage.
Due to heavy vegetation, some damaged lines or equipment can be difficult to spot from the roadside. If you see a downed tree, damaged power line, or anything else that appears related to the outage, please report it immediately by calling 580-336-4100.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as our crews work to safely restore power to everyone. We will provide another update as soon as more information becomes available.
Due to the heavy rains and strong winds, areas of the city are experiencing power outages. The electric crew is currently out assessing damage to the power grid and will begin conducting repairs as quickly as they can. Additionally, there are areas that are experiencing very high water. If you must get out, please be extra cautious around high water areas, especially if there is fast flowing water.
Please contact our emergency after hours number at (580) 336-4100 if you need to report any other issues. We ask for your patience as we work to restore utility services.

The attached map provides an overview of the streets currently being considered for improvement. Several of these areas also align with other planned infrastructure projects to help maximize efficiency and long-term value for the community.
We recognize that additional streets throughout Perry are in need of attention, and we remain committed to addressing those areas as resources and project schedules allow. For now, this map highlights the streets currently planned for focus during Fiscal Year 2027. As work is completed, additional streets will be evaluated and incorporated into future improvement plans.
Please note that all project plans are tentative and subject to change based on funding availability, weather conditions, utility needs, unforeseen circumstances, and other factors that may affect scheduling and priorities.

Water Project Update: Crews are currently working on Kaw Street and will next move to 6th & Holly before continuing on sections of Fir. Contractors will also patch the streets as the project wraps up. Thank you for your patience as these improvements continue.
