Water and Sewer

Acting as both recreational areas and supply facilities, water resources are a vital part of the infrastructure of a city. In fact, water is one of the most important resources that a city can control, and Perry has more than enough water resources to meet the needs of the residents.

Operating a modern treatment plant capable of producing millions of gallons of drinking water per day, the Perry Water and Sewer Department has the capacity to keep the residents of Perry properly hydrated for many years to come. The water treatment plant originally drew unprocessed water from Lake Perry, a flood reservoir on the Black Bear creek just a few miles southeast of the city.

Street Department

Maintaining a quality road system is paramount to the health of any city. In fact, street maintenance is one of the most important parts of the infrastructure pie. Whether fixing potholes or doing a full street rehabilitation, the Perry Street Department is working hard to keep the citizens of Perry moving as smoothly as possible.

The Street Department does more than just maintain the many miles of city streets, though. As with all departments within the City of Perry, the Street Department frequently works in a support capacity to help other departments maintain the city’s vital infrastructure, including water, sewer, and electic services. This cross-departmental support helps the City of Perry operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Electric Department

Working around the clock and in all weather conditions, the Perry Electric Department is the bastion of energy and industry that keeps the businesses and citizens of Perry operating.

That’s not all you’ll find them doing, though. Replacing streetlights, servicing electric meters, and locating buried electric lines are just a few of the myriad duties assigned to the Perry Electric Department.

As the largest revenue generator in the Perry Municipal Authority, the Perry Electric Department plays a vital role in the fiscal health of the City of Perry as well. Since the majority of operating funds for the city come not from taxes, as is commonly thought, but from the revenue collected by the utilities that make up the PMA, the importance of the Perry Electric Department to the City of Perry and its residents cannot be understated.
