JOB POSTING -Electrical Superintendent
Exempt – Full Time
Reports to: Administrative Services/Public Works Director

 

Perry Municipal Authority (PMA) is seeking an individual for the position of Electric Superintendent. The position is located in Perry, OK. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing the electric operations for a customer base of over 3,000 meters with 3 employees. The individual must have the ability to direct personnel in the planning and coordination of construction, maintenance and operation of electric utility.  A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in construction and maintenance of an electric utility is required. Applicant should be skilled in the areas of organizing, planning, directing and controlling the operations and supervision of an electric utility. Must have customer service skills and possess excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must be skilled in motivating, training and evaluating subordinates in order to obtain the highest degree of productivity, and be responsible for the development of individual capabilities. The ability to effectively work with the other City departments is a requirement. This position will be involved in budget planning. Strong analytical skills and ability to operate personal computer is essential. Please send resume and three references.

Job Requirements

GENERAL FUNCTION: A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in construction and maintenance of an electric utility. Management, supervisory and human relations experience is required.
Must possess a sound knowledge of principles and practices used in the construction, operation and maintenance of an electric distribution system and knowledge in electric transmission systems is a plus. Must have a good understanding of National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, OSHA and DOT regulations. Must have an understanding of budgeting methods.
Should be skilled in the areas of organizing, planning, and directing the operations of an electric distribution system. Must be capable of meeting Perry Municipal Authorities’ goals through the implementation of work plans, etc. Must have customer service skills and possess excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must have supervisory and leadership skills in motivating, training and evaluating subordinates in order to obtain the highest degree of productivity, and be responsible for the development of individual capabilities. Must have the ability to effectively deal with businesses and residents. Must have strong analytical skills and be proficient in operating a personal computer. A valid Drivers License is required.
Normal office conditions with extensive field work involved. Occasional travel in the performance of work responsibilities and may represent PMA at various professional and community meetings. Work outside normal scheduled hours necessary. Varied inside and outside duties under regular and emergency conditions regarding hours and weather.

JOB POSTING-Public Information Network Cable Access Telecommunication Director
Exempt-Full-Time
Reports to: Administrative Services/Public Works Director

The Telecommunication Director is responsible for the total daily operations of the Perry Public Information Network (PIN) as well as its studio operations. This includes budget preparation and management as well as the supervision of volunteers. The position requires experience in all areas of television production and post-production as well as expertise with single and multiple camera production and post-production. Expertise in channel programming and troubleshooting production equipment is also required. A significant level of community and governmental experience promoting the mission of a public access TV is a plus. The ability to work with people of all ages and abilities is expected.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position

■Video production for PIN. ■Queue and schedule content to play on the cable channels. ■Create program announcements, schedules, and agendas and maintain channel bulletin boards. ■Monitor channel problems and take appropriate action to resolve. ■Record or cablecast meetings, special events, etc. as directed.  ■Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to assist in Public Access TV operations. ■Actively meet with community  groups to engage their members to join with PIN TV in program production. ■Respond to community requests and inquiries in a timely manner. ■Day to day management of PIN TV, including preparation and working within budget, and providing timely reports. ■Maintain the current equipment inventory and provide the City with plans for future equipment/facility needs.  ■Make and distribute copies of various programs as needed, such as City council meetings. ■Follow cablecasting policies and guidelines established by the Federal Communications Commission and the City council.

Position Requirements

■Minimum of two (2) years experience working in Public Access television or related field.
■Bachelors or technical degree in communications/media or related work experience.
■Ability to work with diverse groups of people and varied age ranges.
■Experience in all aspects of video production and post-production (multi-camera studio, single and multi-camera field, linear and non-linear editing.
■Ability to instruct all aspects of television production.
■Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of loading, unloading and setting up video equipment from vehicle to site without assistance.
■Good oral and written communications skills.
■Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
■Experience using multiple video production software, Excel, Word and Access software, .
■Ability to manage volunteers.
■Ability to work under deadline while supervising several areas of operation.

Job Posting - Equipment Operator

Non Exempt – Full Time

Department - Street

Reports To – Street Supervisor

Position Summary:

This employee can safely and efficiently operate multiple hand tools and powered equipment. Tools and equipment may include shovel, rake, broom, tractor, brush hog, dump truck, snow plow, front-end loader, grader, Gradeall, etc. As a cross-functional member of this department the employee can expect to assist other departments and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

           Assist in maintaining the integrity of streets and alleys

           Mowing of city properties and right-of-ways

           Hauling of various base materials including gravel, cold lay, fly ash aggregate, brush, debris, etc.

           Assisting other departments as required

           Responsible for daily maintenance of powered equipment and assuring it’s safe working condition
