Qualifications and Experience:
Minnix & Meacham is committed
as a firm to provide the highest level of professional service
to all our clients. Our accounting practice has concentrated
and specialized in the governmental areas of cities, public
trusts, and hospitals. By doing so we feel we have been able to
develop more expertise in these areas. We have served as
auditors or outside consultants for municipalities, government
owned hospitals, nursing homes, rural health clinics, home
health care clinics, public trusts, and political subdivisions
within the state of Oklahoma. We have also been involved in the
transition of local governments to the new reporting standard,
GASB 34. For the prior four years, we have served as
consultants for a municipality in the same capacity this
proposal sets forth. Currently we are serving eight political
sub-divisions in some capacity related to financial reporting.
In addition to our auditing
practice, we provide a full range of accounting services to our
clients. These services include: payroll processing, accounts
receivable and accounts payable processing, monthly write-up and
compilation, review engagements, tax planning and analysis, and
other special projects, any of which we would be willing to add
to the services for the City of Perry.
Under Yellow Book standards,
all members of the audit teams maintain, every 2 years, 80 hours
of continuing education related to audit and attestation
engagements. A minimum of 24 of the 80 hour requirement must be
in the governmental accounting field, along with the Oklahoma
Accountancy Board requirement of 40 hours of continuing
education every year. In addition, the firm participates in the
peer review process as mandated by governmental accounting
standards.
